It’s official we’ve joined the army of seamstresses sewing face masks to support our medical community during the COVID19 outbreak. These masks will go to a local Dr’s office to help out with the shortage.

Of course, as soon as this project came up we had to sort through our stash of designer fabrics. Most of these are treasured pieces from our boutique days. To us the word “boutique” means special, unique, handmade with love. So, these fabrics were the perfect choice to give to those who give the most.

We thought it would be fun to share the original designs by Kristine Bercot.

Also, cheers to the fabric designers Jennifer Paganelli, Joel Dewberry, Anna Maria Horner

All of the fabric sorting demanded a trip down memory lane. Here are a few of our favorite boutique pieces.

If you’re interested in sewing masks we encourage you to call your local clinics and senior living centers to see if there is a need.

There are a lot of patterns and instructions online including this video and pattern from Joann’s fabric.

We are pleating a rectangle and using strips of fabric to wrap and create ties. Pre-made bias tape would also work great for the ties.

Thanks for stopping by!
